Fogleman
Scores Mansfield Clean Team Award
June 17, 2008
Jay Fogleman's Greased Lightening 250 USAR Hooters Pro Cup race
June 14th at Mansfield Motorsports Park wasn't his best race, but it
was good enough to take home the Clean Team Award.
"I'm proud of my team and how the car ran tonight," said
the driver of the Speedco/The Works/JFco Motorsports Ford Fusion No.
4n. "We didn't get the finish we were capable of getting here
at Mansfield, but we're proud to take home the Clean Team
award."
After
qualifying 11th, the Durham, N.C., racer wasted no time charging to
the front of the pack. While battling for fifth, however, he tangled
with another car and had to restart at the rear.
"It just spiraled downward after that," Fogleman said of
his race. "A car spun in front of me later on and we got into
it with the nose. That shorted some electrical components and we
lost a number of laps fixing it. Darin (Odle, crew chief) and the
crew did a great job, and they put a good racecar under me;
unfortunately our finish doesn't show it."
Fogleman finished 17th in the race, but currently sits eighth in
Sears Auto Center Northern Division points.
"We've got three good cars and we're working on a fourth,"
Fogleman revealed. "We're in the top 10 in points, and the
season's got a long way to go. Once we get some racing luck on our
side we'll be in good shape."
