Fogleman Captures Top 10 at Jennerstown
July 31, 2008
Jay
Fogleman drove the Speedco/The Works/Mac Tools/JFco Motorsports Ford
Fusion No.4 to a top-10 finish in the July 26 running of the USAR
Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division's Hooters 250 at Pennsylvania's
Jennerstown Speedway.
The Durham, N.C., short-track veteran's seventh-place finish puts
him sixth in Northern Division points and garnered him The Works
Clean Team Award, but Fogleman - who's never happy with less than
perfection - wasn't satisfied with the performance.
"We had a better than seven-place car," said Fogleman, who
qualified 13th with a setup he felt was perfect for the race.
"Pit strategy hurt us. We pit late for tires, but it didn't
leave us enough
time to work our way back up to the front. It's just the luck of the
draw, and a lot of it depends on how many cars are left on the lead
lap since the guys in this series are tough racers and never easy to
pass."
Fogleman is happy with the way his cars are handling, however, and
excited about the rest of the season.
"My crew chief, Darin Odle, has been a big help," Fogleman
said. "The guys on the team are all doing their jobs well and
the cars are handling as good as any I've ever driven. It shouldn't
be long before the luck of the draw turns our way."
