Fogleman
Secures Top 10 in Points
August 26, 2008
Jay Fogleman survived Bristol Motor Speedway and secured sixth in
the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Northern Division point standings.
"We're in a good position for the Championship Series,"
said the driver of the Speedco/The Works/Mac Tools/JFco Motprsports
Ford Fusion No. 4n. "We were hoping for a better run here, but
that's Bristol - anything can happen, and it happens fast."
The Durham, N.C., racing veteran qualified 12th for the Aarons 150.
"Track position was going to be key," Fogleman said.
"It's a shame we never got to show what we had, because we
worked hard and had a good car. We had a good test and the car was
balanced really well, and we had a good pit stop in the race."
Fogleman
was one of a slew of front-running cars that pit during an early
caution. He came out 16th on the track, which would have put him in
contention once everybody completed their stops. But when a car spun
in front of him on lap 18 and he got plowed into from behind, there
was no choice but to lose laps making repairs.
"Darin Odle and the crew did a good job getting the car as
drivable as possible so I could salvage something," said
Fogleman, who finished 16th. "It demonstrates the caliber of
this team and shows that we're ready for the Championship Series to
come."
