Fogleman
Finds Victory Lane at SNRP
October 23, 2008
Jay Fogleman drove the Speedco/The Works/Jfco Motorsports Ford
Fusion No. 4n to victory lane in the Oct. 18 running of the Dan
Duncan Memorial Aarons 250 presented by Sound Station & Security
of Smithfield USAR Hooters Pro Cup Championship Series race at North
Carolina's Southern National Raceway Park.
"We had a good car all day,"said Fogleman, who qualified
third for the event. "Darin Odle and the crew did a great job
and gave me verything I needed."
The win - his first in the Pro Cup Series since 2003 - wasn't handed
to Fogleman, however. He pit twice to ensure he had enough fuel at
the end of the race, and that meant he had his work cut out for him.
"We had to bide our time getting through the field,"
Fogleman said. "It helped that we had great pit stops, and the
team made all the right adjustments."
As the Pro Cup Series prepares for the Nov. 1 season finale at
Rockingham Speedway, Fogleman sits third in points, 109 out of first
and 73 ahead of fourth.
"Mathematically we're still in the hunt," Fogleman said.
"We need to be in position to take advantage if the leaders
have a problem and fall out early. We also have to be able to
maintain third. The competitio's been tough this season; it's going
to be a good race."
